Two blog posts in one week. I love this time of the year, as it is the only time I really have to craft.
I just now got around to creating this page, even though I took these pictures 2 years ago. They are of my cousin Alexis. I wanted to use the colors in her shirt, which is a beautiful aqua color; it looked so fantastic next to the bright blue Texas sky. I found a paper pack by DCWV with three shades of aqua, that were a perfect fit for this page. I cut the waves out of the paper using my cricut and attached them to a solid white background. Then I added the pictures, the title (which is a rub on) and the sheer ribbon just for some texture. I love the colors and calm of this layout. Materials Used: Paper: DCWV - Brillants and Brights Textured Cardstock Stack Cricut: Craft Room Basics Title: "Beautiful Smile" - My Minds Eye Ribbon: Simply Sheer White by Horizon Ribbon Challenges Entered: Lasting Memories Take a look at the pictures from the photo shoot. I took these pictures in June 2012 at the Fort Worth Water Gardens.

I got around to doing a layout to highlight the pictures I took of my son in his Halloween outfit, for Halloween 2012. He was so cute in his fireman jacket, so I knew I wanted to create a theme page to really highlight the pictures. I think I use my Create A Critter cartridge more than I have any other, but I couldn't resist the little fire dog and accessories. The title, was cut using Create A Critter as well, but cut the letters using the Disney Mickey Font cartridge. I used my Cuttlebug to add texture. I really like how this page turned out, one of my favs of the year. This was also his birthday theme, which in is October as well.
A co-worker asked me to make a little something that would say thank you from everyone at our organization in Texas, that we can send to a retiring friend in Washington D.C.. So I thought what better way than to scream "Texas", and we did. I used the Texas shape, word Texas, the Texas Flag, our state flower - the bluebonnet, and a star to represent the Lone Star State. I think the page turned out really cute and it has plenty of room for personal messages on the back.

This digital scrapbook page features my grandfather when he was in the military. He signed the front of the photo "To my darling. - Ramon" and on the back wrote "From the boy who thinks that you are the sweetest girl ever" on the back. I really love this picture because it shows the love between my grandparents. I think it is sad that we don't do things like this anymore, it's such a great symbol of their life together.
Challenge Entered: Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge - Old Fashion Photos I ordered my pictures from Christmas at my Grandma Betty's house, and when they came in, I set out to scrapbook them right away. Every year, we take pictures of: Grandma with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, then we take family group pictures. When I was younger, it was just something we did, but now that I am a little older, I love that we have done this for so many years. I love that I can see how our family has grown and changed over the past 34 years of my life. The problem, these days is that it's hard to get everyone to smile and be still all at the same time....so some of the pictures are a little crazy.
When I made this page I wanted to use the Christmas laser cut that I bought at the Great American Scrapbook Convention back in June in Arlington. So I found the two peices of patern paper, which I love and layed out my pictures. I wanted something that would be able to give some context to each picture group. I cut out 6 snowflakes and used my white gel pen to outline each of them and write in the titles for the pictures. These pictures are from the October 19th, 2012 Quinlan-Ford Homecoming game. The girls did a great job. I love watching this team perform, as it brings back so many memories.
This page was a quick and easy page, I think the whole thing took me 15 total. You can't see it very well in the picture, but I cut down the blue giltter paper by 1/2 in on two edges and backed it with a white peice of cardstock. Then I cut down each of the images, and matted the feature photo. The stars are white glitter stickers, so they went on really quickly. I finished it up with a square ribbon brad, a small peice of ribbon, and the "dance" title (which is also a sticker). I wrote the date, Alexis name, and Belles using a white opaque pen. (I don't usually write on my pages, as I hate my handwritting, but I thought it was important to have some basic info on the page, so I broke down and wrote it.) Very easy, but I love the way it turned out.
